SAT was launched in the year 1926, initially named as the Scholastic Aptitude Test , it subsequently retitled as the Scholastic Assessment Test, afterwards again renamed as the SAT I: Reasoning Test, later the SAT Reasoning Test. At present, simply the SAT(Scholastic Assessment Test).
Collage board owned, developed, and published SAT Test, is adopted by USA for admissions in universities and colleges for Under Graduate studies; it is administered by ETS (Educational Testing Service) on behalf of College Board. Not only in United States, Candidates can also apply for admissions to Bachelor's courses with a valid SAT score Report in other countries like Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, India, Germany and Singapore. In 2018, College Board has introduced SAT Test in India as well, so they tied-up Higher Education Alliance with various academic foundations. For students glancing to pursue Under Graduate studies at renowned universities in India, the universities joined in the alliance are accepting SAT Test scores for admissions from Indian students and globally.
The intention of the SAT Test is to assess the students' readiness for under graduate colleges particularly in USA, and Canada. The significant cause for development of SAT Test is to evaluate the students' ability in Reading, Writing, and Mathematical Skills. Apart from Mathematical skills, both Reading and Writing are part of the evidence based Reading and Writing section. The SAT Test is internationally administered at least 5 times in the months of August, October, December, March, and May. College Board has already Cancelled SAT Subject Tests along with the Optional essay for U.S Students, however, the same process for international students as well underway. Students can register or can take forthcoming SAT subject Test along with optional essay until June 2021; who are planning to register for, who has already registered for.
